Symposia and Workshop

Symposium: Exploratory Frontier”.

The purpose of this Symposium is to update the knowledge on the non-productive areas of our sedimentary basins based on the works performed during the last three lustra. It will provide the appropriate environment for the participation not only of the oil industry professionals but also of those who develop their activities in the academic and research areas.
The information gathered is expected to be a tool to foster exploration both in the still non-productive basins and the highest-risk areas of productive basins. This activity will be essential in the next few years if the decreasing trend in the exploratory efforts verified in the last decade, with the consequent reduction of the reserves horizon, is to be reverted.
For further information, please contact the following event coordinators: Gualter A. Chebli (chebli@datamarkets.com.ar), Jorge Cortiñas (jcortinasa@repsolypf.com), Herman Welsink (herman.welsink@petrobrasenergia.com) and Luis Spalletti (spalle@cig.museo.unlp.edu.ar)

Symposium: Hydrocarbon Traps in Argentine Basins”.

The purpose of this Symposium is to complete the development of the knowledge in connection with the elements and processes related to the Petroleum Systems of the productive basins in Argentina.
The hydrocarbon generation and migration topics were considered in the 1999 Symposium "Petroleum Systems" and the hydrocarbon storage topic in the 2002 Symposium "Reservoir Rocks". The objective of the Symposium "Traps" is to obtain a synthesis on the issues related to the hydrocarbon trapping style in the various productive basins of our country, with emphasis in the geometric aspects, filling, seal rocks and preservation.

This Symposium will be coordinated by Estanislao Kozlowski (ekozlowski@pan-energy.com) and Gustavo Vergani (gverganif@repsolypf.com).

Symposium: Formation Evaluation – New Solutions to Old Problems”.

The purpose of this Symposium, actively supported by the Society of Petrophycisists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) -Argentine Section, is to expose and discuss the new aspects inherent to this discipline.
The vast complexity that characterizes our exploration and development areas impels the constant evolution of the formation evaluation methodology. On the basis of innovative ideas and supported by state-of-the-art technology, it is possible to solve the various challenges we face daily.
For further information, please contact the following event coordinators: Luis Stinco (luis.stinco@tecpetrol.com), Alberto Khatchikian (albertok@satlink.com) and Carlos Ollier (ollier@fibertel.com.ar).

Symposium: ”The Reflection Seismic beyond the Structural Image”.

The aim of this Symposium is to analyze and discuss the results achieved by the various related disciplines: acquisition, processing and interpretation.
The technological evolution, the new ideas and the contributions to the business and current possibilities of going beyond the structural image will be considered. This objective will be attained through the experience and participation of the oil and geophysical service companies.
For further information, please contact the following event coordinators: Daniel Soubies (esoubies@repsolypf.com), Marcelo Arteaga (marteaga@pluspetrol.com.ar) and Fernando Fantín (ffantin@pan-energy.com).

“Second Workshop of Geotechnology”

The I.T.used in hydrocarbon exploration and development has evolved significantly and has become an essential tool for decision making in the oil and gas industry.
Strategic planning, increasing competitivity and market dynamics pose a constant challenge in the implementation and use of new information technologies. The amount and kind of information handled by the technical departments increases year after year, as well as the problems arising therefrom.
By presenting the last trends, tools, products and services, this Workshop intends to provide its participants with the best and latest market information on data management, integration and specific use of software and hardware applied to the activity.
For further information, please contact the following event coordinators: José Salcedo (jsalcedo@petrobrasenergia.com), Nora Ribera (riberan@pioneernrc.com), Jorge Ortino (jortino@pluspetrol.com.ar) and Luis Tognon (luis.tognon@total.com).
