Induction talk for advanced geoscience students and young professionals

¨Geoscientists in the Oil and Gas Industry: professional development within a company¨

 

The purpose of this talk is to introduce the different roles that a geoscientist may have in the oil and gas industry, his/her professional development within different types of companies and the day-to-day work, from the personal experience of young professionals in different environments.

 

In this talk, young professionals will discuss the different roles that a geoscientist may play in a company, possible directions of professional development and which specific jobs they do. Since speakers have diverse experiences, they will share their own vision on the path geoscientists have laid before them at the beginning of their professional careers.

 

Field Trip: “Triassic outcrops of Cuyo Basin in Potrerillos, Mendoza”

 

The purpose of this activity is to promote the importance of field trips in training and development of geoscientists, as a tool to put into practice the knowledge acquired during university studies and/or during the first years of work as young professionals in the industry.

 

The activity will be guided by geosciences professional instructors, with broad experience on the study of outcrops and subsurface of the Cuyo Basin.

 

Registration requirements:

 

• To be a graduate or postgraduate student of the oil and gas industry-related careers.
• To be registered in #CONEXPLO2022.
• Submit a certificate of student status.

Special Award to Young Professionals

 

The award-giving ceremony of the 11th Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development Congress will have a special award for the best technical contribution of young professionals.

 

The purpose of this initiative is to stimulate the participation in the XI CONEXPLO of Young Professionals who are starting or at the early stages of their career in the hydrocarbons industry, strengthening the professional bond with the sector and rewarding the effort and excellence of those who added greater value through their technical contributions on CONEXPLO topics.
